Christmas Joy in Spokane

Spokane knows how to get in the Christmas spirit and celebrate the season. And Washington Trust was honored to participate in three cherished events this year: the Manito Holiday Lights in Duncan Garden, our annual tree giveaway in downtown Spokane, and the 5th Annual Winter Holiday event at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC). Here’s a look back at these memorable moments.

Holiday Lights in Duncan Garden

Produced by The Friends of Manito, Holiday Lights transforms the Park into a twinkling, magical celebration of the holidays, with over 30,000 lights and whimsical displays. Visitors of all ages strolled through Duncan Garden, enjoying a winter wonderland of dazzling lights. As a sponsor of this beloved event, Washington Trust volunteers were also on hand to distribute giveaways and share the joy of the season.

A Downtown Tradition: Free Christmas Tree Giveaway

After a Covid break, our annual tree giveaway returned to downtown Spokane. Families gathered to take home one of a 100 free Christmas trees purchased from Hutton Settlement. Hot cocoa and coffee were provided by Brews Bros and MovHer transported the trees to our lot. This tradition has become one of the favorite events of the year for our team members. Volunteers from across the Bank were on hand to distribute the trees and spread cheer.

Living (Christmas) History at the MAC

For the 14th year, the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture took visitors back in time — circa 1910 — for Christmas. Visitors to Spokane’s historic Campbell House experienced what Christmas was like in the home with actors portraying members of the Campbell family and their servants, including baking cookies with the Campbell family cook. Amongst the Christmas decorated mansion, attendees also could participate in a scavenger hunt and create calling cards to leave with Campbell family members. Supporting this event is a win-win, not only is it a festive Christmas activity, it also celebrates the rich history of our community.

Stay tuned for more community events in the new year and thank you to everyone who joined us in making this holiday season so special!
